Dorothé Smit

Dorothé Smit (she/her) is an assistant professor at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the Creative Technology programme. She holds a PhD degree from the University of Salzburg.

Her research explores the intersection of the physical and the digital in the hybrid, and how the resulting new materialities and interaction modalities shape the way we understand the world, technology, and eachother. She approaches her work in the fields of Design Research and Human-Computer Interaction through a feminist phenomenological lens.
