Speculative Approaches to Design for Women’s Health

I am currently developing a research agenda that takes a speculative approach to the (socio-)technical space of women*’s health. Through multiple small grands, I am currently conducting co-creative workshops with women who face chronic health conditions, including diabetes, PCOS, and infertility.

In these projects, I apply co-speculation to envision alternative futures with the women who face the consequences of inequity in our health care system. Through creative workshops, we co-construct inclusive visions of the future, which can contribute to generative discussions with all involved stakeholders.

*Note: Gender (‘Being a woman’ or ‘being a man’) is not an essential quality. Cis-women, transwomen, and transfeminine/non-binary people are all marginalized in the health care system, and this research agenda explicitly aims to include the voices of all women.
